Funeral Plans for Nehmson and Gael

The two young men who drowned Wednesday evening, July 14 in Pella, IA were 14-year-old Gael Chrispin, also known as Gael Paulette, and 15-year-old Nehmson Sanon.  Both of these young men were here at church every week.  They both were cheerful, kind, helpful and full of joy.  This is a tragic loss for their families, their church and for all who knew them.  Our church has and will continue to reach out to the families and to the Haitian church to stand with them and serve them today and in the days, weeks, months and years to come.

The funeral for both boys will be held at Wornall Road Baptist Church. 400 West Meyer Blvd, Kansas City, Missouri 64113.  The church is located on the northwest corner of Meyer Blvd and Wornall Road.

The service will begin at 10AM.  The funeral is open to anyone who desires to honor the lives of these fine young men, comfort the family and look to God and the power of the Gospel for the strength and peace needed at the hour.

For those who care to do so, you may bring letters, cards and expressions of your love for these boys to Wornall Road Baptist Church on Thursday July 22 and Friday July 23.

There is a fund being established to in memory of both boys.  Contributions can be made to Wornall Road Baptist Church, Nehmson and Gael memorial fund.

I have been meeting with both families who lost sons and the leadership of the Haitian church while  this is a very difficult time for all, the gospel is truth in the best of times and now, the worst of times.  The truth of the gospel provides that we morn not as those without hope.  Both of these young men were amazing.  They were happy, polite, considerate, helpful, fun and committed to Christ, the church and their families.

The Haitian church has no lead pastor at this time, I am doing all that I can to be with them and minister to them in my role as pastor.  They have some of the most awesome, mature leaders I have ever known.  The Haitian church family has responded in a wonderful, compassionate and effective way to the families who have lost these boys.  In every way the Haitian leaders have ministered and encouraged me.  Please pray for yourselves as you prepare to worship that together  at the funeral service.  Let us embrace these dear brothers and sisters in Christian love during this hour.

Pastor, John Mark
