Geoff Chang | Pastor
(2021-present)
Geoff serves our church as a non-staff pastor. He grew up in a Christian home. His parents immigrated from Taiwan to Brazil (where he was born), then to Houston, TX (where he spent most of his years). By God's grace, he was saved during middle school through a church summer camp. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a business degree and he worked in consulting for several years. However, during those years, he began to sense a call to ministry and eventually took an internship in his home church, Houston Chinese Church. He then attended Southern Seminary for his M. Div., and then he went to Capitol Hill Baptist Church (Washington, DC), where he served as an intern and then a pastoral assistant. There, he met and married his wife. In 2010, they moved to Portland, OR, where he served as an associate pastor at Hinson Baptist Church for a decade. In 2020, he finished his Ph.D. at Midwestern Seminary in Kansas City and accepted an invitation to serve on the church history faculty at the seminary. He is also the Curator of the Spurgeon Library at MBTS. He is married to Stephanie and they have three kids.
