Derrick Haskins | PASTOR

Derrick serves our church as a non-staff pastor. He grew up on a farm in South Dakota and came to faith in elementary school through the witness of his family and local church. 

He holds a degree in Business and Corporate Communications from Northwestern College of Iowa. For 14 years, Derrick worked for the South Dakota Department of Health, specializing in program management, marketing, and public relations. Additionally, he served as a deacon and lay elder at Community Bible Church in Pierre, SD.

In 2021, after leaving government to pursue vocational ministry, he served as a pastoral intern at West Center Baptist Church in Madison, SD. In 2022, he relocated to Kansas City to pursue his Master of Divinity at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Alongside his seminary studies, Derrick is pursuing additional training in biblical counseling through the Christian Counseling and Education Foundation (CCEF). He currently works for his family’s agricultural real estate management company. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
